In many cases if you are not to confident in setting-up ADSL Modem Routers, it is nice to have all compatibility issues to be taken care of beforehand.
In fact if you set up ADSL Router manually (e.g. by accessing it using an IP address) then there is no such thing as compatibility issue. But for some users it is easier to use built-in wizards so only entering few lines like user name and password would be enough.
At the same time you shouldn’t compromise on advance settings and wireless access range as getting familiar with you router might eventually bring you to tweaking it’s settings manually.
