Wireless ADSL Modem Routers provide extra flexibility when connecting PCs, notebooks and other devices via WiFi. But you are still going to need at least one Ethernet connection to the router simply to configure it. In some properties connection between the floors could drop significantly depending on a type of property and the angle between your Wireless ADSL Router and the actual device like PC or notebook.
There are several common solutions to this problem.
First: Get a Wireless ADSL Modem Router with a longer range. Now, regulations in the EU put a limit on the output power of the transmitting devices. Therefore you can’t really get much more “powerful router” and they all have about the same power output. Best solution is to have ADSL Router with more or longer antennas, like the one below.

Second: Get and install wireless repeaters or extra stations between the floors. This configuration would allow extending the range almost indefinitely by chaining repeater together. This solution requires some extra technical knowledge and would increase equipment load in your home or office.
